Lillydale Lake
Lillydale Lake is open at all times and has a range of facilities and activities to suit everyone, including an all-abilities playground, outdoor fitness station, walking tracks, fishing jetties (it is regularly stocked with trout), BBQ’s, picnic shelters, sandy beach areas and public toilets. Come along and have a picnic or barbecue, take a walk or bike ride around the 28 hectare lake. There are two designated dog off-lead areas within the park. BBQ Facilities Available.

Yarra River Warburton
Thomas Avenue
In the heart of Warburton town centre is where visitors and locals alike come to play along the riverbanks of the Yarra River. Easy to grab something from the local shops and sit and play at the waters edge. An abundance of native birdlife and and if you’re lucky you may even see some platypus in the river. Warburton Recreation Reserve
Nestled in the Warburton Recreation Reserve is a beautiful family picnic spot with plenty of room for the kids to run free while mum and dad relax and take in the magical surrounds of the clear waters and natural bushland. Plenty of room to kick the footy or play a game of cricket.

Upper Yarra Reservoir Park
Enjoy the magnificent drive to Reefton, where you will come to the Upper Yarra Reservoir Park – the upper most accessible point of the Yarra River. This Park area was originally a small town constructed for the workers who built the dam between 1947 and 1957. Popular now for picnics, camping, sightseeing, or just an excuse for a drive or ride into a beautiful part of Victoria. It offers breathtaking views of the reservoir and the surrounding catchment from the lookouts. BBQ Facilities Available.

Maroondah Reservoir Park
Maroondah features gardens with stands of native and exotic trees, native animals and birds and walking tracks. Its playground, lawns and cool summer shade make it a popular picnic destination in warmer months. The magnificent Rose Stairway is at its best in Autumn. Enjoy azaleas and rhododendrons in full bloom in spring. During the wetter months experience the awesome force of the water tumbling over the spillway. The park has picnic tables, wood barbecues (wood supplied), rotundas and toilets. BBQ Facilities Available.

Badgers Weir
Badger Weir Picnic Area is the perfect place to enjoy a picnic or barbecue. Visitors can enjoy fresh mountain air and forest walks passing through ancient fern gullies, across clear mountain streams and meander amongst mighty Mountain Ash.

Badger Weir is a birdwatcher and photographers paradise with the Australian King-Parrot, Crimson Rosella and Superb Lyrebird easily viewed. BBQ Facilities Available.

McKenzie Reserve
The expansive grounds of McKenzie Reserve positioned in the heart of Yarra Glen feature expansive lawns for large and small picnic, with an arboretum of established native and exotic trees to perch your blanket beneath.

The award-winning Yarra Glen Adventure Playground boasts a huge variety of activities for all ages. Loved equally by our locals and visiting families. Adjacent to the skate park, it has good shade, public toilets, picnic facilities and barbecues available. *This playground is accessible for all abilities. BBQ Facilities Available.

Gallipoli Park
Marysville’s Gallipoli Park precinct includes a state-of-the-art children’s playground called Kin Playspace, Reflective Garden and New Life Sculpture. The New Life Sculpture, designed and produced by local artist Bruno Torfs, is a permanent symbol of new life in the community. With the Steavenson River running through the precinct it is an ideal spot to enjoy a picnic. It offers public BBQ’s, seating areas, a gazebo and garden rooms plus public amenities. Fernshaw Picnic Area
Set amongst the Mountain Ash of the Yarra Ranges National Park the Fernshaw Picnic Area is located along the Black Spur scenic drive from Healesville to Narbethong.

The popular picnic area is the site of the former town Fernshaw, situated on the Watts River. The town was abandoned and sold by auction in the 1890s, after the collapse of the gold mining and timber- cutting boom. The top picnic ground was actually the site of the main street in the 1860s.
