The Warburton community tends to several volunteer-run community gardens in the township where food is grown with the intention to share and everyone is encouraged to 'pick what you need'. The goal is to be 'Edible Warburton'.
Located on the main street of Warburton (look for the ferro cement gateway designed by local artist Sioux Dollman) and in a series of boxes at the rear of the Warburton Community Bank (Thomas Ave, adjacent to the Yarra River), the gardens are abundant in produce of all descriptions and also support local food initiatives such as the Koha Community Cafe.
Regular working bees are held but you do not need to have given in order to take (but it's always welcome!)
