Shlomit Moria – Wood carver and Chainsaw sculptor

Shlomit is a self-taught wood sculptor and chainsaw carver from Warburton, Victoria.

Her passion is to breathe new life into the forgotten or unsightly tree stump in your yard by transforming it into an art work or to make a unique sculpture that you can take with you. She is happy to work on site around the Yarra Valley area.

During the school term, you will usually find her in her workshop surrounded with flying sawdust as her creations emerge from what to the untrained eye are simple blocks or logs of wood.

You are welcome to walk in and have a chat during the week. At weekends, her workshop is open to visitors by appointment. There are usually a few of her pieces looking for homes that can be purchased on the spot, but she mostly works on a commission basis.

Shlomit is a member of Yarra Valley Arts and the Association of Sculptors of Victoria and is a regular participant in their exhibitions and in the annual Yarra Valley Open Studio weekend. She is also a proud finalist at the Yering Sculpture Awards and Exhibition 2018.

Please feel free to contact Shlomit for an informal chat about creative ideas around wood.
