Cycling Events in the Warburton Valley

The trails and tracks of the Warburton Valley provide a range of riding experiences from the gentle cruise to the challenge of endurance events.

Mt Donna Buang is host to the annual Everesting event each February, when a selection of elite athletes make the 17 kilometre ascent and descent eight times – the equivalent of climbing Mt Everest. First attempted by Olympic hero George Mallory, the Mt Donna Buang climb is a regular feature of many cyclists week – both for training and enjoyment.

Warburton Valley is also a popular destination for cycling club outings, and regularly hosts groups such as the Hells 500, known for their Seven Peaks ride program and many other endurance events.

As a cycling destination, the Warburton Valley has a growing reputation as one of the most popular places for varied rides, great scenery and a network of terrific support services – which usually begin and end with a coffee at Cog Bike Café.
